When you want to thermoform skates, it is very important to go exactly through the rules below, you prevent from irretrievable damge of skates!
For thermoforming skates is important to use either special fuser furnace , which serves exactly the purpose, or classic electric oven, which can maintain a constant temperature declared. Never use gas oven for shaping - it would lead to irretrievable damage of skates! For local shaping you can use heat gun.
1. ENABLE LACES
As a first step it is very important to enable laces and prepare them for very fast putting on leg and tighting laces until skates are still warmed.
2. PREHEAT OVEN
Set the temperature on the furnace (oven) to 75 - 80 °C. In between, when the furnace (oven) is warming up, take out the inner liner.
3. PUT SKATES INTO OVEN
When is furnace (oven) preheated to the temperature we wanted, put skates inside. It is important that skates, or holder don´t touch any space of back of the oven. We recommend to put the knife into wooden beam with a groove. Heat up the skates maximaly 2-3 minutes!
4. QUICKLY PUT SKATES ON
Take skates out of the oven, sit on the chair (knees in angle 90), put inner liner in skates. Put the skates on and use socks, which you use normaly at the match. Push foot immediately the most you can to heel. These steps are important to do in possibly shortest time frame.
5. TIGHTEN LACES
Now you start to tighten laces. The whole skate you tighten firmly from tip to fetlock, above the ankle to the last whole (eye). Tighten laces to direction to the side, not up. If you would tighten direction up, you could make irretrievable damage on warmed skate!
6. STAY SITTING
Now you stay sitting, knees still bend in angle 90° and leave skates for about 25 minutes on your legs. Try to devide your weight equally. After this time, you take out laces from last 3 eyes. After this, take off skates very carefully.
7. FINISHED
Remember that skates are still warm, and by not careful manipulation they could be deformed. Let skates cool down and for minimum of 12 hours you let them mature in regular room temperature.
